Rough spawning action

Mine "seem" to do it every other day................ but they eat a lot of the eggs or the tads do or the dragon fly larvae do, the pond does not get overwhelmed with fish.

All females may not spawn the same day.

This spawning season is nuts. I've never seen it this way. I think that's what killed my small oranda and my indoor tank is like a battle field. Fish are going nuts, it's a weird spawning season.

One of the big ranchus jumped out of the water in the plants in the margin and she's been missing for a few days. Dead now.

I'm gonna miss that fish. Pretty pissed off at the males.

Bummer sorry you lost your fish, mine are chasing a lot, but it is not easy for any of the fish to jump out. One side the pond wall is 3 foot high, due to our slope, the other side around 8 inches up, bog wall Only at the walkout end could they maybe jump out but even then they would need to go up over rocks around 7-10 inches high.

So sorry, she was a very pretty fish. My five koi, are banged up from spawning
