I've been thinking about using salt. How do you guys monitor it? Liquid test or a fancy electric meter? Have you noticed any effect on your plants?

When I have read posts about salt, it seems most use those liquid test kits. If it high enough to hurt the plants, it would be most likely killing your fish.

a few benefits of salt are... helps maintain a healthy slime coat (stress coat)...helps control alge....helps control parasites...and blocks the absorbtion of nitrites into the bloodstream of fish minimizing the risk of nitrite poisoning (brown blood disease)

I use koi medic salt meter to check mine,
I only use salt in my q-tank for medicating when needed.
