I am so happy to have found this forum- Hello amazing people! I had a 20 gallon tank with a shelved Tetrafauna waterfall filter pump. I loved it, but can't recall how much it cleaned the mess below (without substrate *see photos). Now, I'm trying to set up a similar system in a 4'x 4'x 2 1/2' deep, 500 gallon pond with a 24"x 30"x 14" connected bog and wondering it's efficiency: can I use 1- 800 galloon pond pump (in a corrugated basket surrounded by filter material
) in the bog to suck in debri and pump it back up to a waterfall feature to flow back into the ponds and back down over rocks back around into the bog?

welcome to the forum, it seems a bit slow these days one due to the economy and the uncertainty that we have had . And the holidays.

Hard to see what your plan is , but my first question is what are you using for a liner that it is brown?
you made mention of shelves in the title but i see little hint of them in the pond.

the pond its self should always start with a shelf a few inches to a foot so your rocks sit in the water and as the water evaporates it does not expose any liner making it look man made and cheap

Me too wondering about that liner. Hope it's not a tarp or made out of similar material. I see there must be a part that has a shelf as that black bucket is sitting inside the pond. A pond where you can't see the liner when full of water looks more natural for sure. I would re-do so this can happen before it's too late. We can show you how if you like?
