Skippy filter or bog filter.

Skippy filter or bog filter that is the question. I'm building a 15'x13'x4'. Not sure on the gallons. It will b 2-3' in half the pond and 4' deep in the rest. Was thinking about a 100 gallon stock tank filter or possibly a bog in stead. What do u think is the best option. It's will get a lot of sunlight right now until build a something for shade.

The only thing I found was a problem with plants in my filter are they need root trimming often ,but boy do they help clean .I started with a skippy and did not like it .

Your pond sounds about the same as mine. I have a skippy but I need it that way because I pump the water up a hill and need the filter as a holding tank to supply water to the stream and waterfall. It's a pain to clean and I only do it in the fall. I would go with a bog and see how that works.
