Our longtime redo of the ponds south bank is slowly progressing. I need your help. We have decided about 6" to 18" of the liner above the water liner would look best with some type of earthy finish. To accomplish this I will have some type of sand or foundation material adhered to the liner. Note, we successfully tested non-tar based roof sealant/adhesive. The material must not dissolve in water.

Please suggest natural and man made gritty material that will meet the need. Thank you.

Latest photo of the south bank.

I seen the stream guys glue pebbles and stones for a natural look, not sure what kind of sticky stuff they use, but I know there's more than one type. 6-18 inches seems easy to decorate with natural pieces.

I see you closed this lou, have you thought of the rock on a roll? i have used it, have it go up on the bank and down into the water. Out some other rocks etc on top of it, either glued or placed. If you use it make the cut in the water a varied cut, ie not a straight line, over time it gets aged, algae, moss and looks very natural. Looks good even when new. Get the gray color it would blend in well with the colors you have going on there.

I like that idea of a little mini deck. You could anchor the legs in the soil and let it stick out over the pond a little. It could wrap/curve around the front of the big tree too.

Not expensive to do and really could go all the way around the tree if you left room for the tree to grow

Yep just something you could put some potted plants or decor of some sort on to your liking.
