Beer (particularly Molson Canadian) is a major food group.

Yes I have......I'm still a bud guy. Old rolling rock was pretty good. I had my 10 year phase when I was buying craft beers but I got over that.

I make my own beer now. I can't remember the last time I bought any.
- and I have a wife that doesn't drink but fully supports my hobby.(y)
If I had to supply my own beer intake by making it I wouldnt have time for work........hey wait a minute Mitch.............that sounds more like a justification then a reason NOT to(y)

With my basic brewing equipment setup, I could make max 5 gallons of beer per week.
All I use is grains, hops, yeast, water and the ingredients cost about $30 - plus it's a fun hobby.

I have thought about it,I have friends who make beer it's usually some pretty good stuff. Problem is I got enough hobbies and a long work day.

Yep. Brewing a batch of beer from grain takes about 6 hours.
Brewing from malt syrup though takes about 1 hour.
I hate paying for alcohol. Way too many taxes involved.
