Hi guys,

Found one of my tanks had spawned early this morning. Removed adults and added lots of air, turned off my pumps! What should I do if another tank spawns? If it not with in the next day or so, I would be afraid to mix the egg batches as I figure the older will eat the younger. (see what a positive person I am, I am assuming they will hatch!) Have my food ready. Should I set up another tank just in case? I have two other pairs in separate tanks and am hoping they will also spawn.

I have never tried to save any, but there are some good writes up about spawning and saving the babies, do a quick search, think it is under the koi thread.

thanks KG.. if others spawn tonight do you think I could put them in same tank to hatch without the older eating the younger they would be 24 hours apart?

Methylene blue or malachite green! Most aquarists I knew used the former.

I wouldn't be worried too much if I had fry hatching a few days apart in the same tank
Just keep a eye out for any that grow way faster than the others

I would be careful with the "added lots of air" part. I prefer to keep the air down low for a while. The young fry can get swept up into the bubbles and the ride can break their back. It's happened to me...
