Me neither, Sissy. Could be just some kid playing a prank; if not, I appologize! Sounds like a 70's band to me,

My humble appologies, Alun. But there WAS a rock group by that name back in the 60's or 70's.

Thank you Computerguy. I'm afraid spelling is not my top point, but I do remember it from first year biology in secondary school. And yes, I do recall the band of the same name... spelling unknown!

Unfortunately my wife now informs me I was on the wrong track completely and the plant that's causing my problem is called duckweed in this country. Any suggestions anybody?

Thanks for the welcome, too
Alun

doing a search there are some herbicides that work. It seems the duck weed likes still sluggish water. Maybe add a lot of movement or an aerator might help.

I found out what it was after they are having a major problem with it at Smith Mountain Lake here in West VA Seems like it is causing problems with the boaters ,They seem to have resolved it with some kind of fish that loves to eat it

Goldfish and koi love the stuff. I have customers who just can't get enough of it for their fish. John

I can't keep the stuff in my pond as the fish love it so much! I have to dole it out to them in rations!

Yep they love it and gobble it up like mad! I have some growing in a tub w/ nice composty muck on the bottom and the duck weed loves it in there free of fish!
