Here's one for you addy our lovely lover of snakes

If you tried to read this out loud, it would be a real tongue twister!
I got this from my real estate guy:

Story of Petey, the Snake

This is the story about a poor little snake named "Petey."

Petey was a snake only so big. Petey lived in a pit with
his mother. One day Petey was hissing in the pit when his mother
said: 'Petey, don't hiss in the pit, go outside the pit to hiss."
So Petey went outside of the pit to hiss.

Petey was hissing all around when he finally leaned over and
hissed in the pit. Petey's mother heard Petey hissing in the pit
and said: "Petey, if you must hiss in a pit, go over to Mrs.
Pott's pit to hiss in her pit. Petey went over to Mrs. Pott's
pit to hiss in her pit, but Mrs. Pott was not at home, so he
hissed in her pit anyway. While Petey was hissing in Mrs. Pott's
pit, Mrs. Pott came home and found Petey hissing in her pit. She
said: "Petey, if you must hiss in a pit, don't hiss in my pit; go
to your own pit and hiss."

This made Petey very sad, and he cried all the way home.
When Petey got home, his mother saw him crying, and said: "Petey,
what's the matter?" Petey said: "I went over to Mrs. Pott's to
hiss in her pit, but Mrs. Pott was not at home, so I hissed in
her pit anyway, Mrs. Pott came home and found me hissing in her
pit and said: 'Petey, if you must hiss in a pit, go to your own
pit and hiss. Don't hiss in my pit.'"

This made Petey's mother very angry, and she said: "Why that
mean old lady. I knew Mrs. Pott when she didn't have a pit to
hiss in."

Only snakes we have on the West side of the mountains of Washington are Garter Snakes and they aren't poisonous. We welcome them in our gardens as they eat lots of bugs.

People commonly refer to garter snakes as gardener snakes because they're often found in the garden and the name seems sensible. The real name, however, is garter snake. This name was coined because they look like a style of garter that men used to wear in the old days, to hold up their socks.

We have those here, just have not seen any yet. Just one tiny little gray one. I know we have copperhead and timber rattlesnake, I just make sure I can see anyplace my fingers go into, esp with all the nice snake crevices I have made with rock around this pond.

We have the Cascade Mountain range here that divides the state in half and all the poisonous snakes stay east of the mountains and are not allowed over here on the west side:lol:
Actually they can't live on this side of the mountains as it's not warm enough in the summer for them to survive and that is ok w/ me..............same w/ poisonous spiders

It is darn wet there, I would drive my 73 datsun station wagon until I found another neat place to stop, anywhere from one hour to hours away. Did a lot of camping on the sea shore. Drove to vancover island also, then into canada. Ended up being a 2 month trip with 7000 miles on my car.

Yep, I had just graduated, knew once I started my job the chance to do this would be over, so off I went with 1000 under the floor mat and my dog, no clue where I was going to, just had to be back in 9 weeks to start my new job. Had one heck of a great time...........saw some beautiful country. Started out in phoenix, ended up there for the next xxxxxxxxx years lol

Sounds like a blast. I would have gone w/ ya if I would'a known ya. I graduated high school in 67 and turned 18 that summer so I was free as a bird after that. Memories are nice especially while we still have them
