Alright so i decided to re do my pond this year. Basically b/c the one i put in last year was just a quickie b/c i had no where fer my fish to go after we bought our new house ( here is the old pond build https://www.gardenpondforum.com/300-gal-puddle-t5344.html ). I decided not to go with a big pond in the back yard just yet. i did take any pic till now :yikesu: ill take more from now on and keep yall updated. So far iv redug my pond and the filter pit where the 555gal stouty fiilter is. Sorta built my waterfall, i just put the liner in tonite b4 i got the water finished constructed but i was tired of the rain washing away all my work. But im kinda stuck with this filter waterfall.
(1) How do i go about making a waterfall weir coming out my 55gal filter?
(2) How do i attach the liner to the weir?
I still half to finish shaping my waterfall and put that liner in also.

Here is a couple pic i have so far

how deep is your pond .Remember whatever your footings are coded for ,your pond should be that deep if you are planning on fish .The water will freeze to deep unless you have a heater or no fish .Koi need at least 3 or 4 feet .I'm thinking your doggies there think it is going to be a cooling off pool for them lol .They sure are checking it out

Look at koiguys weir thread he makes and sales them. If you aimed it right the water will waterfall into the stream you have there, so your liner could just go into the pond and up the side of the filter barrel. Have enough side built up to catch slash.

stouty...i dont have my liner fastened to my weir, and i have no problems with it.but if you want the liner attached, you put it as a gasket between the weir and the filter. silicone it on both sides and run the screws thru all. when tightened it will be squashed between....plenty strong enough to keep it in place.

Looks good! Love seeing a big filter on a smallish pond. Make sure you get some liner tape and seal that waterfall flap down, It's a bad spot for a fish to get and die and not get spotted, I ALREADY DID THAT IN THE PAST! also with it flapping out like that plants and such get behind it and rot as well. If you gauge your pump correctly that waterfall should really come out looking nice.

Any place that sells pond liner will have it. There is the double side tape and the single side tape. Make sure the liner is dry and clean ow it does not stick well
