Strange fungus

Anyone know the name of this fungus? Found it in my yard this morning, this nice 'spring' morning (almost 70 degrees today).

That's really neat looking! Never seen anything like it but interested in finding out what kind it is also and where all it grows.

Geez, maybe it's a sign that the end is near,lol...........hmmm, maybe I shouldn't be laughing!

That is neat looking! let us know if you figure it out. Does it stink? if so might be a stinkhorn

I did find out. It is a Pseudocolus fusiformis (stinky squid mushroom) and yes it is a stinkhorn. I have seen a lot of fungus in my day but never that one.
