By this time of the year, my floaters have USUALLY been consigned to the compost bin. Well, today I have TWO water hyacinths blooming in the 300 gallon shubie tank!

good on you, John; for me, a VERY typical year--lots of green leaves and bulbs but no flowers. Makes me wonder why I keep trying (until I see pics of others' blooms!).

We're both in the same hardiness zone. I usually get flowers around the middle or end of June for about 3 weeks, and then they're done!

must be your cleaner air; IF I get any flowers, it isn't usually until end of August and then, it'll be spotty at best. Last year I had 2' tall plants (not kidding) and 2 blooms, BOTH of which were LOWER in ht than the surrounding leaves, so you can see my luck in this area...

I guess 'pondcrastinator,' they too, procrastinated and bloomed in the fall! Way to go.
