I've been stuck on my first pond build all year, but I think I've revised the plan to something that will work. Does this sound/look like a good plan?

The back sides of the pond are roughly 11' long. I royally screwed myself by building it way too close to my fence line, so I can't really do much for building up a berm or waterfall. I certainly don't have the space to build a bog or homemade waterfall, and will have to rely on buying a small molded rigid waterfall.

I terraced it down to 3' at the deepest section. On the far right the skimmer will pick it up and send it to the back through the mechanical filter. It will then go to the inlet on the bottom of the IBC bog, up through the rocks, and pour out of a pipe at the top into the rigid waterfall liner, and back into the pond at the opposite end.

How does this plan look? I'm really stuck because the next steps involve dropping a couple grand on liners and the pump/filter, and I'm terrified I will do all this and somethings going to go wrong.

Any advice on how to build up the waterfall feature in a very narrow space? I have less than 4' from the fence to the edge of the pond, so I don't imagine cinder blocks would fit and leave enough room for the waterfall liner. Building it is hard enough, I don't even want to think of a way to hide the filter and bog right now...

Provide a picture of the intended area. 4 feet is plenty wide to build a bog and you dont necessarily need cinderblocks. Your design would not be optimum. You have a corner top left where sediment will develope.
Your waterfall being on the left and pointing across the narrow width any current / flow will be reduced as it hits the wall instead it would br best pinting down the pond or up in your picyure and the falls on the very bottom of the drawing. A return jet or power head on the top left blowing town your skimmer would help. With no bottom drain id want everything ushed toward the skimmer. Id also think about a jet at the botoom stiring up the sedinent and waste. Giving the skimmer another chance to catch it

Where will you want to sit and view yourfalls? That will help clarify where to place/face it.
My contractor backed mine to within a foot of the fence- making for trouble finishing/maintaining.
Think twice, correct while you can, build once.
Good luck

Agreed to waterfall should be facing your patio / sitting area and home. To where you can see it from within the house.
Putting the water feature on the otger side of the property is a mistake

One feature I love most about my pond is the sound -- might not be important to you but maybe think about it. I'm able to see and hear mine from the second floor as I type this and that's so valuable to me. Best of luck.
