Oooh, pretty clemmies! What is that pink one? My "early" ones bloomed back in March/April, but nothing yet on my others. I have a mix-matched bunch, but mostly purples & one white one.

Thanks TM and addy! The pink Clematis is called Hagley Hybrid or also Pink Chiffon. It's height is short(under 6') to medium(6 - 10') and is suitable for a container. It is in the group C or 3 whichever way you choose to categorize it. It's the kind you cut down to just a few inches from the ground in early Spring and it will grow back and bloom each year. I like those kind the best as the ones you just have to leave all that dead stuff and try to make them look decent are a pain in the kazootski

JW - I gave up trying to prune mine by their category. All of mine get pruned around the same time, usually in late fall or late winter. They always do fine, so guess you can break the rules sometimes. I'll have to look for that pink one. Most of mine only trail to 6 or 8 feet, and only have one that's a shorty.

Yep you can prune those ones you are not supposed to cut to the ground but do it anyways and they will eventually grow back and get blooms, just might take awhile at least it does here. You are much warmer so maybe it takes less for you.

Lou I wonder if a raccoon would eat it? Maybe a neighbor needed a flower for her indoor water bowl? Something either ate it or took it cuz they don't dissolve into mush that quick!

Ok then see something ate it Lou cuz they taste good to addy's ground hogs and maybe squirrel's too!
I had some in my bath tub pond one year and I had to finally put a wire cover over it cuz I think Rocky and his buddies were grabbing them for a midnight snack!

They look good enough to eat too! The fish ate every piece of string algae I put into the big pond, It was full of little worms. So they got veggies and protein.
