swan mussles

Hi I have just bought some swan mussels to help with my pond when I placed them in one sank straight away the other floated. Can anyone tell me what they should do and where in the pond should they be placed.

Welcome to our group......and no idea on swan mussels, I know snails sometimes float when you first put them in. They get some air trapped in their shells. Wait and they sink.

I have been reading about them and how a lot of the bays used to have them here and water was clear and how factories and stuff destroyed the populations of them with there dumping .Even in NY they are trying to get them back in there and to get them reproduce .They say they are better cleaners than snails .Good luck with yours and give us updates as it would be great to see what happens
