They come every year, but sometimes it is hard to get photos. This year was different.....

Ah, you're so lucky to have them...we don't get them here.
Our backyard is a bird sanctuary, we have multipal feeders
and bird houses, but never get bluebirds and just an
occassional humming bird.

Again, you are so lucky!

Nice pics, blue birds are one of the more brightly colored birds in my area.

I have blue birds in 3 out of 5 nest boxes on the property. Other 2 have chickadees in them.

@Gemma, keeping sparrows out can be a pain. I do it by yanking out there nest, they eventually will give up.

We have blue birds, I put up over 100 bird houses, think that helped.
Saw a bright blue bird, eating seed at the feeder. Not the normal blue birds. Tried to get a picture but my pup started barking and it flew away.

Beautiful pics! Here we have them, but they choose to make nests in paper boxes under the mail boxs. Ever heard of this? I see it all the time. They even raise babies with a newspaper being put in the box everyday.

I wonder if you seen a indigo bunting?
It did look like the pictures I just looked up. I was trying to get over to take a picture. BUT as soon as I pick up the camera it alerts my pup that there is something to bark at and she goes crazy.

Thanks! I have seen it a few time, really bright blue. But comes and goes fast from the feeder.

I have to sneak pick up the camera and sneak over to the window. Hard to do with a very alert yorkie.

A friend gave me a gaudy blue gourd. We hung it in a tree right next to our deck. Every year we have warblers nest in it. They don't mind conversations, cooking or lounging right below them.
