The good -- today I saw four of the fish!!!!! The two larger ones were chasing each other all around near the bottom of the pond. Two of the smaller ones were swimming in and out through the parrot's feather that grows up from the bottom like kelp. Hooray! A fish sighting!
The bad -- I planted a blob of horsetail in a fabric planting bag. I used some aquatic planting medium I got online and was surprised to see it was black like dirt. Looked a whole lot like dirt, actually. Although I had gravel and rocks all over the top, when I submerged and shifted the planting bag, a huge black cloud poofed out of the planter and circulated throughout the pond.
The ugly -- that's the water right now. I'm hoping it will settle!
