Well a few pictures from the progress I was able to make this weekend. I am covered in critter bites, (ants, mosquito, no-see-ums, and a fairly persistent horse fly). I've convinced myself that that just proves my sweetness although for some reason the hubby just rolls his eyes at that. I had to take a long "holy unicorn balls" break at the appearance of the snake. The hubby texted me and said it was just a garden snake. I told him I'm fairly certain it had a weird neon stripe down its secret underbelly. Proof it was in fact a ninja snake and it was in fact, time for me to call it a day. But Sunday dawned nice and cool so I rocked.
And now my everything hurts and I'm itchy but LOOK HOW PRETTY.

Looking great!!!!! I am with you! Holy Unicorn Balls is a good expression. I rented a hammer drill to dig my super deep skimmer hole and I could have used that expression multiple times, had I known it! The snake is a cutie! Just remember -- he is a helper and not dangerous at all! Your pond really looks lovely!

I am not a snake fan. I don't hate them but I don't like them. We don't have any in Hawaii and here they have the water moccasin kind that are not friendly and frankly I can't tell the difference. So when they show up, I'M OUT. I did figure he was harmless and was able to get a picture before leaving him the pond for the rest of the day.
And thank you, the waterfall is coming along nicely. I am pretty happy with it so far.

Yes, @tbendl I have to agree with you -- a very pretty snake, indeed! And what a great shot of it, too!

Just kidding [[ If you follow T on FB, you are familiar with her humorously sarcastic writing style -- I'm sure there's an official name for it, but I just call it "T-speak" -- which she tones down here on GPF ]]

@tbendl, love ya, girl! And your pond re-do is gorgeous! Is it oriented the same as before?

I haven't done anything to the pond, just the bog. I had to tear it down after I neglected it this spring and summer and then "allegedly" put a hole in the liner with a shovel. I like the look of this as it blends much better with my flat landscape.

Thanks guys. I haven't taken any new pictures but I will try to this weekend. I have been so busy I just haven't had time. I have to finish the rocking and landscaping and some other things but I am really happy so far with how it turned out.

Looks so great! You have a such a good eye for "natural". For example - the snake... great touch!

Anyone who is dealing with a flat landscape should see this work - THIS is how you create water movement in your pond without building a hill that makes no sense. (Can you tell a nonsense berm is like my #1 pond pet peeve!)
