Good day,

I've recently moved, and took my smaller (125 gals or so) pond with me...

I now have toads that have decided that it is a GREAT spot...and I understand that toads are a good thing environmentally speaking. The issue that I have is that they "could be" toxic to my dogs...

I've been "relocating" them to a creek a few miles away - (about 12 so far, with one more to move today). I have toad eggs in the pond that I guess I will wait until they are tadpoles and then relocate those.

Is this a "losing" battle that I am fighting? There aren't any creeks or ponds near me, and the neighbors don't seem to know where they come from. I'm trying to educate myself about toads and frogs, but I'm just not a fan. :banghead3:

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mike S - St. Louis

Build it they will come........

You could scoop out the eggs take them down to the creek. I just let mine hatch become lil toads, I see tons of little toads hopping around, then they are gone.

Very seldom see an adult toad. I do not have any dogs I worry about eating a toad, I have heard they taste bad and my little dog is not outside without me.

lol is no problem!

I don't worry about the critters that come naturally to the pond, they seem to balance out just fine. I have thousands of eggs laid, thousands of tads, I never see thousands of frogs or toads.
