Tropicals & Winter

Hi, does anyone here in the northern climate zones do anything to save their tropicals? it's killing me to compost them!

I kept a tropical lily in an aquarium in my basement with a grow light and small air pump for 2 winters.

I keep mine in the basement also in a concrete mixing tub and a stock tank .I put an led bulb on a timer that only comes on at night .
