That is what I used. Kind of a pain laying it in the hole, overlapping the strips and keeping it in place ( I believe I may have used a narrower size though). On the plus side, good for multiple smaller layers-I put extra on the bottom and shelves to help with my rocky soil and under the large shelf rocks on top of my liner to protect it.

I found some nice thick stuff on Amazon. It seemed like a decent price to me. I am actually using it as overlay on top of the liner - for a wildlife pond. I will see if I can find it.

5.6 oz will certainly work if your soils and rocks are forgiving.if your soil has a lot of sharp rocks and roots you'll want a heavier fabric I myself has rocky soil with some jagged edges and I opted for 8 oz non woven needle punch
