Hello all! My pond is about 18x9x4deep. I built this pond almost 20 years ago and since I am 20 years older I need to redo for ease of maintenance. I have a vertical valve(see pics) that I would like to replace with something that is more easily maintained and useable. I have this valve which connects right before the vortex inlet. Output then feeds to UV's which then feeds to the bead filter then the return to the pond. I have a bottom drain also. Can anyone give me recommendations/advice on how I could go about replacing this valve with something newer and more easy to use? This valve is difficult to use, constantly gets clogged. I am open to all options. Normal operation the valve handle is in the down position. When I want to backwash the vortex I twist the handle to unlock it and pull it up. I really like the Pentair type of 3 way valves that seem to be much easier to use but not sure of how to configure so they will work with my setup. I bought this along with my filter setup from a local pond store. It works but difficult. I currently do not have a pic of my filter setup since I am moving the setup to another area for ease of maintenance. Any advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
