So now that our set up has a skimmer I would like to make a feeding ring so that food doesn't get sucked in before they can eat it. I am not overfeeding my koi, they are still hungry and want what was sucked away from them

I looked for a hula hoop but all the ones I found had stickers, holes in them (aka no floating) or were light up (no batteries please) and I didn't' want to stick something in my pond that would hurt it. Has anyone made one or have any suggestions? I will probably only put it int he pond when I am feeding and then remove (unless there is a way to make it attractive)...

Thank you!

I wasn't sure if those would all be fish safe, I had eyeballed my extra drip line and thought that might work...if I forget about the styrofoam ring on accident will my fishies eat it if it isn't covered?

I made one from the insulation you put around copper pipes. I also added a thin rope to it and tied the other end to a rock and threw it in. Works great and is cheap!!!

I bought my pool noodle at the dollar store also .Seems those places are a wealth of neat things if you look at them with a fish pond eye :goldfish:

I had some extra garden edging, the black plastic type, and cut off the flat edge part off and made a ring out of the top piece. works great
