For years I've wanted to remove the Large Tree in my back yard that is over my pond, today the neighbor had his tree trimmed and I got a great quote for them to cut my tree down. $300 and they are chopping the wood up for fire wood.

I realize I will lose some shade but I am most excited to keep all the leaves out of my Pond. Anything else to consider regarding the tree to the left?

Make sure to cover your pond if it is close to where they are cutting. Chainsaws give off oil & gas so if there is any chance anything could get in your pond, cover with a tarp. We had 4 large oak trees cut down a couple of years ago and they were directly over the ponds. I was a basket case until the trees were down. The tarp we put over the pond was covered with wood chips that smelled of gas.

I hope they are good and tie off each branch before dropping them .My dad for years cut down trees for people and cleared lots for a builder .So I hope they are honest .If your pond is not to wide I would put plywood across it and then tarp on top of it .If it is to wide then 2x4's with tarp on top and 2x4's should be space about 14 to 20 inches apart .Time taken now may mean less stress for you later .I hope they are insured also in case of injuries or damage .They can file a claim against your home owners if not .Be careful now before it is to late .

Hammock is already removed from the tree and setup with the stand it came with.
And the Pond is tarped off. The neighbor next door said they were Insured and they did great work today at his house, they are coming back in the morning to do my tree.

Ummm, you have tarp over that one last section? I think you will want the entire pond tarped. That sawdust and stuff flies EVERYWHERE!

And you will love the end result. I'm jealous.

I'm thinking you are waiting till they get there to tarp the whole pond. GG is right, wood chips and sawdust will be flying everywhere. be careful when you remove the tarp so nothing falls in the pond.

After the mess we made last year doing our spring cleaning of leaves and pollen from the roof, we covered the pond this year. But ... we weren't as careful as we should have been removing the cover. Next year I might double layer the covers. We've got plenty of frost cloth we can use, and it will make it easier to deal with the loose bits.
