Water level and skimmer

Hi
Am about to install a kockney skimmer and wondered what the ideal position is regarding water level. I have read somewhere that halfway up the face plate is ideal.

Any info anybody ?

Not sure what a kockney skimmer is but most skimmers have the water level set around an inch or so below the top of the opening.

@Fastcat I don’t have a skimmer, so can’t help you. Did it come with installation instructions? You can always try to look it up online, or contact the company.

I contacted the company i purchased from and they advised halfway up face.
