Hello All,

Just a quick introduction from us, we are Craig & Nicola from Hampshire UK.
We enjoy gardening and looking after our 2 cats, not keen on frogs but with a pond we understand this might be impossible to avoid!

We have never had a pond before so all this is new to us, our new 8 foot by 4foot pond is already waiting for the liner to go in when Amazon decide to deliver it of course.

As our garden isn't huge the pond will be the perfect size for us as we have 2 small children who need room to play too.

We don't plan on getting any expensive fish just some to keep the kids entertained, we have been warned that a heron keeps coming by and pinching other locals fish so even though we don't plan on spending lots on fish we will still buy a decoy??

Anyhow that's us!

pound in some stakes around the pond and stretch some good heavy fishing line around the stakes 18 inches above ground. go around and a criss cross over the pond, the herons cant see the line and get confused and give up. put the stakes atleast a foot from the edge(2' is better). and they wont land directly in the water they preferr to stalk from the shore, and slowly wade in. but they will stand motionless for 20 minutes if they see a possible meal.
