Weird fresh water shrimp discovered

I may try later to get a photo but this little fellow, perhaps an inch long, is doing well in my aqueduct. I have no clue as to how he (or she) got there as the aqueduct is about 24" high and the nearest stream is downhill a quarter of a mile.

I used a freshwater critter search site to identify the chap:

It is unreal how critters find the pond. They move right in
