Fish started spawning yesterday & I woke up to a stinky/foamy mess this morning. I managed to get in there this afternoon & cut/move damaged foliage to open up water flow channels to the skimmers. That should help all the foam filter out in a day or so. I still have more plants to try & salvage - the bog bean is shredded, among other destroyed things! Good thing it only happens once a year!
Poor Ellie was confused by all the commotion, smell, & mess!

I could barely see the fish to check & make sure everyone was OK!

After I got the flow improved the foam started to filter out.

You have a beautiful pond and it looks like the foam was clearing nicely after you cleared the path to the skimmer. I remember our koi basically trashing the plants, especially in later years when they got so big !

Thank you. And, yeah, the big koi really wreck things in their enthusiasm! Fortunately pond plants are pretty hardy & grow FAST! Any damage done is pretty quick to heal itself.

Look on the bright side they damage the plants cut off the damage and the plant needs to take it more nutrients to grow more shoots. Clearing the pond.

Definitely! As soon as that ridiculous patch of Lizard Tail is done blooming, it was scheduled for a **major** 'haircut' anyway!
