What can go on my 12 inch shelf

Bog I have: Leopard plant - Iris - penny wort - chives - canna - and a grass
In the pond I have: 2 water lilies - hornwort - parrots feather - frog bit
I added some watercress in the margins
I have a shelf 12-16 inches - what would be good to plant there?

Anything you want to plant!

Lizard tail, pickerel rush, iris, bog bean, parrots feather etc

What do you mean by "root tops"? Many marginal plants will grow from 6-10 inches underwater, so if you grow them in pots, they will do fine on your 12 inch deep shelf.
