I'm awaiting a new pump float from Lowes

http://www.lowes.com/pd_197774-8486...1&currentURL=?Ntt=pump+float+switch&facetInfo=

it had to be mail ordered as no stores in my area carried it

my diaphram is here:

http://www.amazon.com/Little-Giant-...dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

seems most uses are for sump pumps; worked for 2 years and then suddenly it didn't

As to the pump floats like the one in the first link, seems most failures are due to the plastic failing after a couple of years or from debris that gets caught up near and and prevents it from working (something that doesn't occur with a diaphram)

My main usage for these devices is to shut off pump should water level get low

I'm wondering if anyone else uses something to shut off their pump, what it is, and your opinion

thanks

Dave

Hi, not sure what auto fill means but thanks for the tip.

Some updates.

I discovered that the diaphram had accumulated a lot of sludge inside and now it's working, LOL

Meanwhile, my float pump arrived. It has a double float so that if one fails, the other one will shut off the pump. Anyway, I tested it and when the water drops just half an inch, that makes the pump stop. Would be nicer if the float were more adjustable to say, 1 or 2 inches.

I'll try and figure this out.
