I caught this fish on my cam in my pond. It does not look like a gold fish, maybe a small fry?

The river chub (Nocomis micropogon) is a minnow in the family Cyprinidae. It is one of the most common fishes in North American streams.

That's a great guess.
How did it get in addy's pond?:)
That is it, at least what it looked like.
I wonder if the two mallards that landed a few weeks ago had eggs on their feet. There have been zero plants added for years now.

Ducks are bio-bombers potentially bringing the full range of plants, snails, fish and bacteria to a pond near you. Use to wonder how lakes and small ponds isolated from streams etc end up with fish. Now I see how they get there, hitchhiking on ducks and geese. LOL.

By the way, I lived in northern Virginia for a time and had a natural 55 gallon aquarium with a turtle and fish from the local streams including the pretty river chub.

Wonder if there is more and if it's an ok fish to have in there?
It doesn't matter if it is ok or not zero chance of me catching that sucker. I couldn't catch one small fish in a hot tub pond, without almost draining it, they can fly when they want to.

I agree @MajorDan has it right, it's a minor. Our local fish hatchery published an article about using them in ponds where people are growing out large mouth bass. I found it interesting that the females lay the eggs underneath logs etc. and the males use a sponge like spot on their heads to keep them clean. I had the paper article, will look to see if there is an online version.

Nope, just checked their website and didn't see it.
