We had a flowering bog plant that came back year after year untill a couple years ago when the winter was really severe. The plant had a 3-4 foot stem and produced 8-9 inch pink blooms. Each year it would die back and leave a tapered dry 3 foot stalk. What could it be?

Same thing happened to my Canna............one yr we had a cold one and no more Canna! You can dig them up and put them in a pot in your house/garage every winter like our radio garden guy does..............not me tho I'm too lazy,lol!
