hey there! My friend created a little pond on his yard. He wanted me to ask you, more professional people, what plants are good to clean water. I also read that in a pond there should be minimum 10 plants per 1 m2. Is it true?

ALL aquatic plants are good for cleaning your pond. Anything that grows in the water will remove nutrients that would otherwise feed algae or be harmful to fish. As to how many per meter - I've heard those numbers, but never really paid too much attention. "As many as you can squeeze in" is my formula!

My water has been kinda murky this year. I couldn't see down more than a few inches. I couldn't clean the pump because the nozzle for the backwash is too close to my garage and I can't fit a hose on to it, and the filter itself is too heavy to move. That being said I added some water lettuce and water hyacinth about three weeks ago. I put just one of each in. Now there are at least a dozen good size of each plus a lot of babies attached and now my pond is so clear I can see the bottom!
