Go to trickers or any plant store online and search for plants that live in your zone.
All of mine are hardy ie freeze back.

I have a lot of plants that are hardy for my area (zone 6b), they come back every year.
But, of course, I do enjoy some tropicals each Spring/Summer for their beauty.

There are many good online sellers, but shipping can be expensive.

Try looking at local garden centers. Many plants that are so-called bog or pond plants are really just regular plants.

I have a Marsh Marigold that comes back bigger and bigger every year. In fact it has sprung up in other parts of the pond and bog all by itself. From one plant, I now have five! They are gorgeous. They bloom pretty yellow flowers in the Spring. They are budding and blooming right now.

There are lots of grasses that look great in the bog.

In fact, just about everything I put in the bog does well.

Some people grow vegetables in their bog.
