Well I went out with the dogs and heard the dreaded gurgling of the pump. Water level was down. I checked all the maybe areas, nothing. Tough with all the plants. Then I had a thought, I made a repair awhile back with a fernco on a cracked pipe I believe 2 years ago which is under ground a tiny bit. Bingo the fernco was leaking. Somehow the clamp loosened a bit (never had one loosen before). Whew, easy fix at 4 am ;)

All is good now. BTW fish are out of hiding now and I believe I did not lose any other fish from the predator visit.

Glad it was a quick and easy fix! Good thing the pup needed a out!

I have had a few fernco joints loosen over the years, but not very often. Usually it was because I forgot to tighten after I put them back on in the spring.

Sure hope mine does not loosen. It is under the pond encased in concrete on the bottom drain.
