Ummm, I’m pretty sure that deer was in shock, went away to feed the circle of life. That’s venison in the door, yet I saw no blood on the car or the road.

I doubt it made it. My hubby clipped a deer, it jumped off a hill, went to run across the road and slipped and fell. We have it on film sliding across the road. Our BRAND NEW JUST REPLACED bumper was cracked a tiny bit of hair in the tiny crack, the deer no where to be found. That one may have made it. Hubby was good about doing avoidance driving swerve and braking.

Yeah, im pretty sure it finished its life portion of the circle of life.
Not sure if I mentioned here about my mom bringing me two feral kittens. Well, they’re very not feral now. As in, currently on my lap demanding my attention. This is week 2 just ending with them. That’s the easy part when they’re this young, I’m guessing them to be about 6 weeks old now. So the little black one ( named her coffee) gets very concerned now that she knows water running in the bathroom means someone is risking their life to get in that scary stuff, and she informed me of all the hazards as I took a quick shower last night. Very vocal about making sure I was ok. I think it’s cute, but I understand why it worries her. Her mom and aunt lived under my mom’s house, but the two fought. So they ended up outside in the garden during a rainstorm, and that’s where my mom found them, and since they were soaked, skinny, mom had run off, she took them inside. Unfortunately, her gsd hates cats, and killed a sibling before she could bring them to me. So big trauma their. Their mom was recently killed, so I’m glad they’re with me now

So we’ve finished painting our bedroom. Three weekends of work, and it’s finally done. Hopefully we will hear this week that where I work will be hiring my step son too, that’ll give me more slack in my budget to be able to work on the living room. I predict that’ll need about 5 gallons of paint, but will be a longer project due to the ceiling beams that are still being sanded and stained in a slow process, halted now due to sander dying. The living room still has bits of drywall that need to be put up, then taped, primed, then painted. Going for a soft tan and cream in the living room, possibly with a sheer copper glaze if I can find what I need for that. I want subtle, warm, and inviting.

I got lucky i got run off the road by a deer early am . i went onto someone lawn and got tossed up on the seat but just jambed my foot on the landing a bit. and rode out of it, any hit you can keep on the 2 and shiny side up is a good one.

Took a few shots of the canna's on the deck and the bog canna that is doing the best.

Got a bloom from one of my new lilies, tricker's. The tuber was smaller than my pinky when it arrived.

I think this is garlic, not the type you eat. The bees love it this time of year one of the few nectar sources we have.

cleaning and feeding caterpillars hopefully for the last time. Only 27 more to climb up! Got window screen netting over both ponds, leaves are falling already and I'm sure Ida won't help that situation. Tomorrow its drain cleaning and clearing off lawn furniture. Every time we are prepped, nothing happens so going for it.

We stayed home due to the storm coming, yesterday, were going to come to the boat. We were to be there today so the contractor could come back to fix a few things.
He had to call off due to his aunts house being damaged from the tornado and a tree falling on it, new roof, new siding. So we came to the boat.

The tornado touched down about 1.5 miles from us, we could see the start of the path as we drove here, trees down branches everywhere. We got to our boat it was as if nothing had happened.

We received 3.4 inches of rain, just north of us by 5 miles they received 8 inches of rain. The bridge we go over to get to stores (one way to go) is closed. A very small creek is like a huge lake. There are a lot of trees/ bushes planted there now in those white tubes, just starting to grow. Not seeable now all under water. My neighbor took the pictures since we had left for the boat.

All i can say is I am glad our house is at the top of a hill with a good drop off to the back, the water just rolls down that hill.
It poured good old Ida, horrible flooding other places in the state. One apartment building two people died they were in basement apartments the water came in so fast and so high they drowned. The water was 2 inches from the ceiling. So sad.

A lot of roads closed right now, trees, washed out , flooded. Non stop on the news turn around don't drown. A lot of cars flooded, don't buy used from MD now, might have been flooded.

We sold our property in Vermont last Friday so, no more ponds. We drove the RV to Florida, and working on getting a new house built on our waterfront property. I will probably check in from time to time to see how everyone is doing.
con grads hope the build goes well
