hi everyone! Just done a measuring of my new pond I’m building out today. The measurements are 15ft length, 16ft wide and 5ft deep. And I’m going to have one shelf all the way around about 2ft down and 1ft wide.
How many litres and gallons would it be in UK readings? I’ve calculated it without the shelf includes and I think it’s about 7400(around that) UK gallons. Not sure about litres. Can anyone help? Thank you

7400 x 4.55 = 33670

But if i done right a pond of 15x16x5 w/o shelf is 32400 litres...so is less....
so...calculator on hand and if i done right...
1ft = 0.3 m
(15x0.3)x(1.6x0.3)x(2x0,3) = 12,96 m3 (1st part with the shelf)
(13x0.3)x(14x0.3)x(3x0.3) = 14,74 m3 (from shelf to bottom)

So is 27,702 m3 that are 27702 litres

Hi everyone so I did a post before but my pond is now dug out and I’ve done it a bit smaller than it was. It’s now 13x15x4ft but I have a shelf the whole way around. The shelf is 2ft down and 1ft wide. The part closest to me has a little dock area (the green square patch of grass) that is in the pond and is 90x90cm so I’m just wondering how many gallons and litres actually is the pond? Thank you everyone

To find gallons, we'll break up your pond into two sections—the 13x15x2 section at the top and the 11x13x2 section at the bottom to account for the shelf. I assume your measurements are in feet/inches?

13*15*2=390
11*13*2=286
=676

Volume = 676 cubic feet. You can convert cubic feet to gallons by multiplying by 7.48. So 676*7.48=5,056 gallons.

If you are planning to rock the upper shelf with boulders, expect to lose about 15% of that volume. So 390*0.85=332+286=618*7.48=4,623 gallons.

are you not doing calcs for a rectangle and not a circle ? suppose its close enough

best way to check is when you go to fill it . get a meter on the hose

I guess I should have looked at the picture. In my mind 13x15 is a rectangle.
