where do you put your airstone

I just got my air pump and it came with a styrofoam ring type thingy so you can adjust the depth of the airstone. Instructions said to put it at half the depth of the pond, but i was wondering if that was just for winter time. Here is a link to the one i got.

mine doesnt have a float so i just put it on the bottom .... but i would think you would put it low in the pond ...

thats for winter, the 1/2 way point,,, put your stone in the deepest part of the pond, the deeper they are the more effective they are. if your pump is strong enough run a cou[ple of top fin volcano stones.. they work very good,

I'll have to check into them,it came with a 1" square airstone and the pump is adjustable for how much air. I'll move it to the 3ft section after dinner and save the styro for winter to keep the ice off the top.
