Where to get rosy red minnows in Northern California?

Hey folks,

Any thoughts on where I can get some rosy red minnows for my pond in NorCal? My LFSes don't seem to have them, and I hear that while you can get them from bait shops, but that sounds like a recipe for disaster (parasites etc).

If not rosy red minnows, can someone recommend a hardy, small but visible schooling fish for a pond that is easy to find? I have mosquitofish right now, and I love how they school, but they're almost impossible to see because they're so dark. I'd love to see small schools of fish swimming through my pond.

They carry them at petsmart, Walmart, Petco in Maryland, no clue about California.

Petcos and petsmart but you're gonna need to quarantine them for two weeks at least cause they almost always carry disease.
