Is there an Aquatic Plant shortage right now? I used to buy pond plants from a water garden specialist store (Creative Water Gardens) in Garland, Texas but they went out of business due to Covid-19. Another local nursery that carries aquatic plants was hit by a tornado (2nd time in less than 2 years!) and they might have experienced set backs because of this.

In addition, I usually buy everything else from Pond Megastore, but according to their website, almost everything is out of stock. This is the first time my pond has made it to June bare of plants and I want to get it planted soon. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks.

I've ordered from Pond Mega Store in the past with no problems.

This year I decided to try William Trickers which is highly regarded by many.

I live in northeastern Pennsylvania, zone 6b.
I placed my order from Trickers on may 17 and haven't received the order yet. I emailed them a couple days ago and they responded by apologizing and saying all the orders were going out within the next 10 days.

I'm assuming they were holding out due to the weather. Last weekend it was pretty cold here, we had to wear jackets and use our heat!
Yesterday was 85 F and today looks like it will be another scorcher.

Same thing every year....freezing cold, then immediate scorching heat. No real Spring transition.

My pond and I are getting impatient waiting for the new plants. Hopefully we'll be rewarded with some awesome plants real soon.

Maybe you should try placing an order with them.
Good luck.

@poconojoe I also tried Tricker this year. I emailed them yesterday to ask when my order would be shipped (I expected it to go out by June 1) and they responded today " All orders are scheduled to ship within the next 8 days ".

@FountainMan if you are looking for waterlilies, I had a very good experience with Aquarium Plants Factory. Sadly they are almost out of tropicals (still few left), but they still have many hardies, probably far best prices on market - all under $20 (I bought Wanvisa from them last summer - blooms like crazy right now, and this spring I grabbed Helvola, Colorado and Joey Tomocik) . They ship free for orders over $60.
Another seller I bought from this year is on Etsy - GreenPro (awaiting my Lindsey Woods this week - free shipping). Plenty tropical waterlilies there to choose from.
Both these sellers also sell aquarium/oxygenating plants.

Not pond plants exactly, but we're working with a landscape firm that tells us that many plants in general are harder to come by this year. Shipping issues on top of employment concerns compounded by lots of folks taking a sudden interest in gardening and beatifying the landscape have all increased demand while lessening supply.
