Can you shut down winter filtration while not feeding the fish?

I try to run mine 24/7 every day .

You might not have to filter, but water movment is needed

Ok, that's good to know. I have a smaller water fall unit I bought to set up a second system. I can hook that up with the smaller pump and run the water right off the deck into the pond. That'll by pass the main system while I work.

Funny, I'm both excited and scared of this new project. It's going to be really huge, but I think the results will be major worth it.
