Since this is my first pond & will be my first "winter," wanted to get a discussion going regarding plant-specific care. In my excitement, I bought a bunch of plants, not knowing too much about their care past putting them in the water for the summer. And some are plants from my own yard or other "land" plants that I'm experimenting with -- so no biggie if they don't make it, but would like to give them a fighting chance.

To get started.......

HARDY LILIES:
I have 2 of these. All I know about them is that they need to be sunk. When do I do this? Does the depth matter? Do I trim off all growth? When do I bring them back up? Do you re-pot yearly or just when they need it & do you do that in fall or spring?

[not sure what to do with my pretty "tropical," Islamorada -- it's had many, many babies, so I have extras to experiment with].

PARROTS FEATHER:
Will it survive zone 8? Do you leave it where it is [mine is along the edges of the rock sides] or do anything special with it?

FOUR-LEAF CLOVER: Same as above.

SENSITIVE PLANT: Same as above.

CREEPING JENNY: Same as above.

OXYGENATING/SUBMERSED PLANTS:
What about these guys? Have various things down there & don't recall their names.

MARGINAL / BOG PLANTS: Only have a few & will have to look their names up. Most are plants I pulled from my yard [some are sprigs and some are rooted]. But in general, what is "winter hardy," and what will probably not survive? Guess most of these are "experiments," anyway, so no big deal if they don't come back.

FYI, no facilities [or desire] to over-winter anything inside, so that's not an option for me.
