Yellow leaves on lotus

How do I add iron?
I have read most on here
My lotus have about 10-15 leaves at the top of water and a few starting too grow above the water line,.. and now it is turning yellow
What do I need too do?
New too this

Take a small ball of steel wool,the no soap kind and bury down into the soil near the roots.
Easy and cheap!

The yellowing could be from a nutrient deficiency or even from over nutrients if fertilized too soon.
