Yellow leaves: Water vs Muck nutrients

DON'T FULLY CLEAN OUT YOUR VEGGY FILTER: The yellow water celery and parrots feather at the top of this picture are in the same water as the green water celery at the bottom. I have similar results with the water hyacinth in my other veggy filter. The difference between yellow and green is that I cleaned the muck out of the top veggie filter and did not fully do so in the waterfall at the bottom. My conclusion: Don't fully clean your veggy filters as many aquatic plants such as water celery and other aquatics can't get enough nutrients from water alone. Leave some muck for healthy growth.
