I have a plastic container that I want to submerge in the water to make a filter but the plastic is kind of greasy. I remember reading that I shouldn't use washing detergent to wash anything I submerge in water. What else can I use to get rid of that greasy feel?

Vinegar works to cut grease and you can use soap as long as you use a natural soap like ivory and to make sure you could always soak it after with peroxide

I used baking soda to cllean out the 55 gallon drums I use for filters. They had leftover grease from restaurants.
