@Meyer Jordan hydrocotyle isn't considered a noxious weed as a whole im pretty sure. There is all kinds, and most are difficult to care for. Maybe natively they are invasive naturally but not on a introduced scale. Would be interested in seeing that though.
Im probably wrong but I would like to see where you got that from? I know hydrocotyle umbellate is noxious weed.

Talk with any Lawn Service company, especially in the Southern tier of states.

That was pennywort and dollarweed, what about all the other types of hydrocotyle, that's what I meant.

It's invasive over here , I had to dig it out and sift the dirt to get rid of it .

They eat this plant as a shake in Thailand.

Yep, I'm from Thailand you can also eat it fresh like in salad but I prefer drinking it. may be I should try add that in my juicing machine...

Theres a list of aquarium plants you can eat, or aquatic plants in general! some taste good, some no flavor, some suck lol!

I actually bought 6 pots if this plant, they were left overs at a local nursery. I like it as a ground cover around the pond.

@tbendl -- Do you think you will continue to have this? (It sounds like it!) If you saw my post about planning my natural pond, I'm thinking I might need some. The Pond Digger used it in his frog pond tutorial. (Even if it is a wild grower, I don't mind getting in and pulling stuff out.)
