I’d like to give my shubbies a little treat now and then instead of their pellets (and the water lettuce they demolish ). Suggestions? Bugs I can gather? Worms? My largest, Shamu, enthusiastically wolfed down a hapless June bug that fell into the pond a few days ago, which sparked this idea of treats.

I remember as a kid feeding our little exotics some freeze-dried brine shrimp, which was very entertaining to me.

Most insects and grubs are good. When digging around my garden, the worms go into the ponds.

Your pellets are the treat , your better off not feeding and let them graze on the algae in the pond.
