A bit of an update:

The temps have dropped down into the high 40s at night, and the primrose has definitely slowed it's growth.

It has backed off of the fast, spreading vines and has switched to small clumps of leaves along the stems of the plant.

I have been feeding my fish a bit extra to prep them for winter, and none of my chemical tests show any noticeable increase, which means that something is sucking up the nitrates.

I am pondering getting a small floating heater to keep the water temps more normal this winter.

It will be interesting to see if the plant survives the winter.
