Mice have wiped out my pacific chorus tree frogs that made the pond so much more enjoyable at dusk. Don't want to use poison as dying mice may fall into pond and contaminate. Can't set traps because Argentine ants swarm live bait wirthin minutes. Anybody smarter than me out there with a suggestion?

Get some havaheart traps and catch them. Then you can hold the cage they get trapped in under water to drown them. Harbor Freight has the traps. That is how I got rid of 6 rats that were under my shed. I used bread with peanut butter, they cannot resist it.

Well, if you spray a ring around the trap of ant killer, they won't cross over the line to get to the peanut butter. Rats and mice don't care.

I had one for several years. I could call my answering machine at night, activate the listen in feature and hear it croaking in the background. Even with a flashlight, I never could find it.
