There are stringy colonies (not algae) near water fall and skimmer in my pond. They do not wiggle or move. They seem to have open mouth-like at the end. Brown color. Any ideas on what this is?

I pulled this rock out the other day so they dried up a bit. They seem to colonize near flowing water

They're actually pretty cool...Do you ever see anything come out of the openings? Please let us know if you do find out what they are...

Yeah approx 3ft deep 20 ft long. Soft water, no chemicals except good bacteria. I believe it's an aquascape large round filter. I use a roll style bio pad (green) on bottom then 2 blue bio pads then 1 Grey bio pad then 2 white filter pads up in my waterfall. Lot of work cleaning day
